Where Do Freshwater Pearls Come From?

Fresh water pearls are commonly used in designs by jewelry makers. And while they are common most individuals are really not familiar with where exactly they come from or how they are readied for market.

The bottles you see in the water are not trash but recycled for use as floats for net cages

The vast majority of freshwater pearls come from China and the pearl farms are
mainly located in prosperous Zhejiang province. The farms often raise both rice and pearls in the same are, but at different times of the year.
